Energy Corps Member Responsibilities The Energy Corps member will conduct research on making the NCAT SIFT (Small-Scale Intensive Farm Training) Farm more energy efficient and provide better energy functionality. They will collaborate with the Sustainable Agriculture Project Coordinator and the Farm Manager to identify resources and opportunities for the SIFT Farm to expand its use of energy efficient technology and research work. They will help complete and distribute a Guide for Resilient Rural Communities to help small towns and cities develop their economy, strengthen community partnerships, develop local food and energy solutions, prepare for weather‑related shocks and stresses, and strengthen local self‑reliance. In Livingston and Park County, the member will support transition efforts from traditional industries to tourism, residential development, outdoor activities, and cultural events, addressing energy costs in operations and the community for economic development. With the Whitefish School District, the member will support programming for K‑12 students and community members, engage in research, and spread sustainability‑related programming learned at the Center for Sustainability and Entrepreneurship throughout the community. In collaboration with the Whitefish City Council, the member supports the first Climate Action Plan, aiming to conserve energy, reduce GHG emissions, and prepare for climate impacts. The Clark Fork Coalition will benefit from outreach efforts and watershed literacy initiatives through citizen science, project‑based learning, and volunteer river corps programs. At Climate Smart Missoula, the member will foster partnerships and actions to address climate change, supporting the development of a Community Climate Action Plan. With Freedom Gardens, the member assists food production of the Frenchtown School District’s greenhouse, teachers with lessons, plant, harvest, prepare for sale, manage aquaponics system and collect data. The National Wildlife Federation’s (NWF) Northern Rockies, Prairies and Pacific Regional Office in Missoula seeks an Education Energy Corps member to promote environmental stewardship and community engagement, supporting programs such as Eco‑Schools USA, Garden for Wildlife, and community outreach. Home ReSource engages in reducing waste, building a sustainable local economy, selling reusable building materials, providing green job training, and fostering a zero‑waste community. The Energy Corps member with BWMT will coordinate education programs, develop workshops, and lead projects on bicycle, pedestrian safety, and transportation design. DEQ and YTTC partnership focuses on advancing electric transportation and infrastructure across Montana, supporting outreach and education for electric vehicle solutions. The member will assist with outreach for the Governor’s SMART Schools Challenge initiative, promoting energy efficiency, waste reduction, and environmental health across K‑12 schools. Opportunity Link will increase energy awareness through education and outreach to groups affected by energy and climate fluctuations. The member will support Yellowstone’s Sustainability Program, assessing, managing, reporting energy use, developing priorities, and assisting in reducing energy, water, and waste. The Glacier National Park‑based member will develop a community sustainability plan, engaging visitors and the surrounding neighborhood. The City of Red Lodge requires the Energy Corps member to reduce city building energy costs and improve recycling operations, working on projects under the Red Lodge Growth Policy. #J-18808-Ljbffr
