We are currently looking for a motivated and reliable packing operator to join our Whanganui team. About The Role As a packing operator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our milk powder products are packed, stored and dispatched safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Working as part of our powder production team, you will operate and monitor powder packing equipment, palletising systems and dry store functions while maintaining strong food safety, quality and compliance standards. This is a varied role that may also involve supporting warehouse activities, product handling, plant cleaning and other production‑related tasks as required. What You’ll Be Doing Operating powder packing and palletising equipment Monitoring product quality and food safety requirements Completing production and dispatch documentation accurately Loading, unloading and moving product and materials Supporting ingredient and packaging storage activities Maintaining high housekeeping and hygiene standards Identifying and reporting process improvements and operational issues Contributing to a strong health and safety culture What We’re Looking For You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing quality products safely and efficiently. Ideally, you’ll bring: Experience in a manufacturing, processing, warehousing or food production environment Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards Good problem‑solving skills and mechanical aptitude Basic computer literacy and accurate record keeping skills A positive attitude and willingness to learn Strong communication and teamwork skills Forklift experience or a current forklift licence (advantageous) Experience in dairy manufacturing or powder packing (desirable) Why Join Open Country?
