Senior Advisor – Māori Economic Policy and Strategic Partnerships (12‑month fixed‑term, Wellington) – Salary: $110,098–$138,028 plus KiwiSaver and wellness benefits. About the Role Te Kupenga, Māori Economic Policy and Strategic Partnerships, supports Māori economic success, wellbeing and prosperity. This Senior Advisor will lead complex policy and strategic work programmes and provide high‑quality advice to senior leaders. The role contributes to the Activating Capital (Māori) Programme, a cross‑agency initiative that improves access to capital and supports Māori economic development. You will build trusted relationships across government agencies, iwi, Māori organisations and key stakeholders, applying strategic thinking and sound judgement to deliver practical solutions for Māori economic aspirations and outcomes. Skills and Experience Required Experience in policy, strategy, advisory, programme or partnership roles. Experience working with iwi, hapū, Māori organisations or Māori policy issues. Understanding of te ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and appreciation of government systems, public sector processes and decision‑making. Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills. Well‑developed analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities. Experience developing high‑quality advice, briefings or policy products. Capability to work through ambiguity, manage competing priorities and deliver results.
