Lead Business Analyst

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Business Analyst on a 6 month contract (chance of extension). This is an opportunity to combine people leadership with hands‑on business analysis, playing a key role in supporting the delivery of a major SaaS implementation. This role offers a balance between leading a team of Business Analysts and delivering analysis across a significant programme. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to the BA team while working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and the implementation vendor to define business requirements, future‑state processes and solution outcomes. About the Role As the Lead Business Analyst, you’ll provide day‑to‑day leadership and mentoring for a team of Business Analysts, ensuring consistent analysis practices, supporting professional development, and fostering a collaborative, high‑performing environment. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you’ll lead business analysis activities across a SaaS implementation. You’ll partner with business stakeholders, technical teams and the software vendor to define future‑state business processes, gather and document requirements, and ensure the solution is aligned with business objectives, operational needs and compliance requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys remaining hands‑on while also developing others and influencing programme delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor and coach a team of Business Analysts. Conduct regular one‑on‑one catch‑ups, provide ongoing feedback and support professional development. Act as a trusted advisor to the BA team and programme leadership. Promote consistent business analysis practices, standards and ways of working. Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the BA team. Lead business analysis activities from discovery through to delivery. Facilitate workshops to understand business needs, define future‑state processes and gain stakeholder alignment. Work closely with the implementation vendor to provide clear, well‑defined business and functional requirements. Ensure solution requirements support business outcomes, product functionality and compliance obligations. Produce high‑quality business analysis artefacts aligned with programme standards. Support solution design, testing, implementation and business readiness activities. About You You’ll be an experienced Lead or Senior Business Analyst who enjoys balancing people leadership with delivery. You’re comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, building trusted relationships and working across both business and technology teams. You’ll ideally bring: Proven experience leading Business Analysts. Strong experience delivering business analysis across complex programmes or enterprise initiatives. Experience working on SaaS implementations or enterprise application projects. Expertise in business process mapping, future‑state design and requirements elicitation. Experience working collaboratively with external vendors. Excellent facilitation, stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements. Experience supporting solution design, testing and business readiness.
