Rotational Physiotherapist - Intermediate Care

About the Role We are seeking an NZ registered Physiotherapist with at least 2 years post‑graduate clinical experience to join the Core 2 Rotational Programme across Auckland City Hospital, Starship Children’s Hospital, and Greenlane Clinical Centre. This full‑time permanent role offers nine‑month rotations in a variety of specialties, including Acute Medical, Haematology, Older Peoples Health, Stroke, Neurology, Cardiothoracic, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Women’s Health, Critical Care (CVICU and DCCM), Paediatrics, Community Physiotherapy, and intermediate care. Responsibilities Provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning for patients across multiple specialties. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including allied health professionals, to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care. Support less experienced staff by supervising physiotherapy students and mentoring junior staff on case‑load management and prioritisation. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care plans. Engage in continuous professional development and pursue specialised clinical skills. Qualifications NZ registration and a current Annual Practicing Certificate as a Physiotherapist. Minimum 2 years of post‑graduate experience, including within an equivalent acute hospital setting. Excellent clinical decision‑making skills and use of evidence‑based practice. A flexible, pro‑active, and can‑do approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary bicultural environment. Excellent time‑management, organisational and communication skills. Experience supervising physiotherapy students. Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to provide culturally safe care in the acute hospital environment.
