Assemble Recruitment is partnering with a prominent New Zealand property organisation to appoint a Risk & Security Manager for one of its flagship retail and commercial assets. This is a highly visible operational leadership role responsible for safeguarding people, assets and business operations while ensuring the centre maintains the highest standards of health & safety, security, emergency preparedness and regulatory compliance. Working as part of the Centre Management Team, you will be the key driver of risk and security strategy onsite, balancing proactive risk management with day‑to‑day operational oversight in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment. The Opportunity No two days will look the same. You’ll work across the full spectrum of risk, security and health & safety management while partnering closely with retailers, contractors, service providers, emergency services and Centre management. Key Responsibilities Lead the centre’s risk, health & safety and security functions, ensuring compliance with legislation, industry standards and organisational policies. Manage security operations, contractor performance and key external relationships, including security providers, emergency services and local authorities. Develop and maintain emergency management, business continuity and evacuation plans, while coordinating training and preparedness activities. Drive a proactive risk culture through incident investigations, hazard management, compliance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with retailers and contractors to ensure health & safety obligations, documentation, audits and compliance requirements are consistently met. Provide operational leadership through reporting, budgeting, insurance claims management and support the wider Centre Management Team to protect people, assets and business continuity. About You We are looking for someone who combines strong technical risk and safety knowledge with excellent relationship‑management skills and a practical, solutions‑focused approach. You will likely bring: Experience in Health & Safety, Risk Management, Security Management or a related discipline, ideally within a complex operational, commercial or customer‑facing environment. Strong knowledge of risk, safety and security principles, with the ability to translate requirements into practical business outcomes. Proven experience managing contractors, compliance programmes, audits and operational risk. Excellent stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across tenants, contractors, service providers, authorities and internal teams. Strong investigation, reporting and organisational skills, coupled with a high attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. Commercially minded and results‑focused, with the ability to manage budgets, prioritise competing demands and contribute positively to a high‑performing team. Why This Role?
