About the Role: Field Engineer – Networks The role is based in the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Gisborne areas. The successful candidate will have experience in supporting (including build capability) networking technologies such as: Network Transport Core IP Nodes Various Inside Plant Technologies (incl. Legacy and Telephony/PSTN) Network systems Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Key Attributes More than 5 years’ relevant experience, with a desire to grow your skills in new technologies Knowledge of Exchange, Datacentre, Government and Customer environments Ability to accurately execute activities as documented in technical manuals Able to work well in high‑pressure environments maintaining an optimistic attitude A willingness to work long hours when necessary and cover standby/call‑out duties Ability to adapt to change, and changing technologies Experience working with NOCs, Lev 2 support, customers, vendors and 3rd parties What You Need Experience in Field Support for ISP equipment including IP, Ethernet and PSTN Experience in Network Transport technologies including Legacy and OTN Fibre build and provisioning including OFDF patching and tie cables install Good Network build understanding and capability Ethernet and Switchboard cabling experience Able to use Fibre and Telecommunications test instruments NEAX knowledge preferable Experienced in fault analysis and maintenance support Understands install quality and QA compliance H&S aware and compliant Excellent customer service skills, friendly and outgoing. Autonomous, resourceful, and innovative but know when to elevate issues Enjoy a challenge and work well under pressure Proactive and productive.
