Catering Assistant - CHT Waiuku

Job Overview Catering Assistant at CHT Waiuku, South Auckland. Permanent full‑time, guaranteed 40 hours per week, attractive rate of $26 per hour (including KS) plus $4 per hour for weekend work. Free parking. Key Responsibilities Plate all breakfast requirements for residents, cook porridge and serve cereals, fruits, etc. Bake tea‑time items; confident in baking for large numbers. Assist the chef with lunch food plating. Ensure kitchen and serving area are kept immaculate, attend to and clean dishes. Adhere to all rosters and food‑safety procedures at all times and use safe food practices. Maintain high standards of personal presentation and exhibit empathy, compassion, friendliness, helpfulness, an outgoing personality, and a 'can‑do' attitude. Show interest in supporting others and providing exceptional service to aged‑care residents. Demonstrate knowledge of commercial cleaning and infection‑control procedures and be flexible to work on short notice. Preferably have previous cleaning experience in an aged‑care environment. Demonstrate a passion for customer service and quality. Qualifications and Requirements Full security clearance and police vetting required. Valid NZ work visa required. Preferable experience in commercial cleaning and infection control procedures. Experience in an aged‑care environment is an advantage. Ability to bake for large numbers and work flexible schedules. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to high standards of presentation and customer service.
