Job Description

Overview Health Promoter – Māori Community (Part‑time, Permanent, 0.5FTE) at HealthNewZealand / Te Whatu Ora Waitematā. Based in Takapuna with work across the whole Waitemata region. Responsibilities Raise awareness and promote participation in the free national bowel screening programme, with a focus on the Māori community. Engage effectively with the eligible age group (58‑74years) and build strong relationships. Provide information, support and motivation to encourage screening uptake. Coordinate and work in collaboration with the screening programme’s IT systems and processes. Be available for evening and weekend work, and travel locally and across the wider Auckland region as required. Deliver consistent, culturally appropriate messaging using knowledge of tikanga and te reo Māori. Qualifications Experience with bowel screening IT systems and processes. Strong relationship‑building skills and a proactive, innovative approach. Team player with high motivation and resourcefulness. Availability for evening and weekend shifts and flexibility to travel within the Waitemata region. Competency in tikanga Māori and fluency in te reo Māori.
