Senior SAP BASIS BTP Specialist

Help shape the future of Christchurch City Council's SAP landscape. We're seeking an experienced Senior SAP Basis / BTP Specialist to provide technical leadership and expert support across our SAP ecosystem, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, SAP BTP, and SuccessFactors. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and continuous improvement of Council's critical SAP platforms. What you’ll do Lead the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and optimisation of Council's SAP environments. Manage SAP BTP accounts, services, security, integrations, and application deployments. Plan and deliver SAP upgrades, patches, transport management, system refreshes, and disaster recovery activities. Provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical support. Contribute to SAP technical roadmaps, capacity planning, and ongoing service improvement. Partner with functional analysts, architects, vendors, and project teams to deliver successful outcomes. Provide technical mentoring and leadership across the SAP support team. What you’ll bring Tertiary qualification in Information Systems or a related discipline. Significant experience in SAP Basis administration, support, and technical operations. Demonstrated experience delivering SAP S/4HANA upgrades ( essential ). Strong experience with SAP BTP administration, security, and platform services. Experience implementing technical change within structured environments. Excellent problem‑solving, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills. Experience working effectively with vendors and support partners.
