Early learning / kōhanga reo, Head teacher Belonging / Mana Whenua, Contribution / Mana Tangata, Communication / Mana Reo, Exploration / Mana Aotūroa, Well-being / Mana Atua 6 weeks annual leave, 15 days sick leave on commencement, generous non-contact Full-time position in an established and well-resourced multi-cultural kindergarten. The kindergarten caters for children aged 2-5 years old in a mixed age setting, licensed from 8.00am – 3.30pm, including term breaks. There is occupancy for 40 tamariki and a 1:10 teacher to child ratio. Seeking an enthusiastic and motivated head teacher (with a Full Practising Certificate) to lead this team. Experience in a kindergarten setting, pedagogical leadership, as well as understanding of centre finances, occupancy and attendance is essential, along with a commitment to professional development and on-going learning. Role requirements B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification Experience in pedagogical leadership Good understanding of child led curriculum, planning and extending on our children’s learning Sound knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and compliance Demonstrates a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with Tamariki, Whanau, teaching team and the wider community Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality education and care Benefits we offer to ensure your health and wellbeing Free annual flu vaccinations Confidential counselling through EAP 6 weeks annual leave Sick leave days available on commencement Applications will only be accepted via the job link Start date: To be negotiated Hours required: Monday to Friday from 8.00am – 5.00pm Applicants require a Diploma or Bachelor of Teaching ECE, current first aid certificate and current teacher registration practicing certificate.
