Casual Health Care Assistant

Location: Ewart Building, 2 Coromandel Street, Newtown Wellington Contract: Casual HCA, no permanent shifts Shifts: Morning: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Afternoon: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday to Sunday. About the role Join our dedicated Community Health Service team in Wellington, where HCAs play a vital role in supporting patients in their homes. Our service focuses on assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and ongoing support for individuals and families. As an HCA, you'll assist patients with daily living activities such as personal care and household tasks. These patients may be recovering from surgery, illness, or require rehabilitation support. You'll work closely with our District Nurses to ensure high‑quality, person‑centred care. Key Responsibilities Provide personal care and home help in a community setting. Support patients transitioning from hospital to home. Assist with hygiene, mobility, nutrition, elimination, rehabilitation, and medication prompting. Work under the delegation and direction of a Registered Nurse. About the Team Our Wellington based HCA team is part of a collaborative and supportive environment located at the Ewart building, 2 Coromandel Street, Newtown, Wellington. You'll be part of a service that values compassion, teamwork, and excellence in community care. About you Completed level three NZQA qualifications in Community Support Services (or its equivalent). Good keyboard skills. Good communication skills. A current driver licence is essential. Note: Police vetting is required for applicants not currently employed by Capital Coast.
