We’re looking for an Asphalt Labourer to join our Christchurch‑based paving team. While this is hands‑on work, we’re open to people with little to no prior asphalt experience who bring the right attitude and a willingness to learn. You’ll work alongside an experienced crew across Canterbury and the wider South Island, helping deliver everything from driveways and subdivisions to airport runways and motorway overlays. No two weeks look the same, which means plenty of variety, real on‑the‑job learning, and the chance to build skills that can take you a long way. Key Responsibilities Learn to operate paving machinery safely and support asphalt works across a range of project sites. Work closely with the crew to help deliver jobs safely, on time and to a high standard. Build practical skills through hands‑on labouring, site support, and day‑to‑day learning from experienced team members. Follow site instructions, quality requirements, and Fulton Hogan health and safety processes. Be open to travel, shift work, and new experiences as you grow your capability in the role. Qualifications Minimum Class1 Licence. Flexibility to work away from home and on shifts when required. Positive attitude and genuine interest in building a career in the asphalt industry. Strong focus on safety, wellbeing, and doing the job right. Team‑focused approach, clear communication, and willingness to pitch in.
