Overview We are looking for an experienced Small Animal Vet to join our team in this 9‑month fixed‑term parental leave cover role at our highly reputed clinic – PetVet Lower Hutt – from June 2026 to February 2027. About the clinic The clinic covers 400 m² and features a spacious ultrasound suite, top‑end digital radiography, two sterile theatres, and one non‑sterile theatre. We register with a solid reputation for quality service and a strong referral base from across Wellington, the Kapiti Coast and Wairarapa. Benefits and work arrangement Excellent work/life balance – exact hours negotiable across a 3‑day week, with shared Saturdays (1:4) and optional 4th day. No Sundays or regular after‑hours shifts (occasional support for the Wellington After‑Hours clinic). Generous remuneration package reflective of experience. Responsibilities As a GP Small Animal Vet, you will provide routine consultations and surgical procedures. You will work a mix of consulting and surgery days as per the clinic schedule. Qualifications Held a Veterinary Qualification recognised in New Zealand, enabling registration to practice. Minimum 3 years of experience in small animal practice. Confidence in routine surgery and consultations; special interests are welcomed and supported. Visa sponsorship not available; however Veterinarians on working‑holiday visas may apply.
