Senior Financial Accountant – Reporting & Controls Madison Recruitment is partnering with a large, complex organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant – Reporting & Controls. This is a high-impact role suited to a technically strong accountant who enjoys working across financial reporting, treasury oversight, and core finance processes. While the role includes exposure to systems and process improvement, the primary focus is on delivering accurate, compliant, and insightful financial information within a multi-entity environment. Based in a conveniently located East Auckland office, this position offers hybrid working and the opportunity to operate in a sophisticated environment with complex reporting requirements. The Opportunity This role sits at the centre of the finance function, with responsibility for financial reporting integrity, technical accounting, and oversight of key finance processes. You will take ownership of month‑end and year‑end reporting, oversee treasury and payroll processes, and provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with accounting standards. You’ll also contribute to process and systems improvements, working closely with stakeholders across the business. Key Responsibilities Lead month‑end and year‑end close, including consolidated financial reporting Prepare and manage statutory and external reporting requirements Provide technical accounting expertise in line with IFRS and/or PBE standards Support audit processes and maintain strong financial controls and compliance Oversee treasury reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness of cash‑related information Oversee outsourced payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery Partner with stakeholders to ensure effective financial processes and reporting disciplines Contribute to systems and process improvements, supporting optimisation of the ERP environment Deliver clear and meaningful financial insights to support business decision‑making About You CA or CPA qualified Strong background in financial reporting and technical accounting Experience working in complex or multi‑entity environmentsSolid understanding of financial controls and compliance Exposure to ERP systems (e.g. TechnologyOne or similar), with an interest in improvement Confident engaging with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders What You’ll Bring High attention to detail and accuracy Strong technical capability and problem‑solving skills A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement The ability to balance hands‑on delivery with oversight responsibilities What’s on Offer East Auckland location with easy access Hybrid working flexibility A technically focused role with breadth across reporting and finance processes Exposure to a large, complex organisational structure A collaborative and supportive team environment Apply Now If you’re a technically strong accountant looking for a role focused on financial reporting, technical depth, and process ownership, we’d love to hear from you.
