About The Role We’re looking for a dedicated Theatre Care Assistant to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in the smooth and safe running of our operating rooms. As a Theatre Care Assistant , you'll support the effective day-to-day operation of the theatres by undertaking a variety of essential non-clinical tasks. Your contribution will ensure the theatre team can focus on delivering safe, high-quality care to every patient. This is a fixed term role offered at 0.5 FTE or 20 hours per week to be worked Monday to Friday. Specific duties include: Assisting with room set up and preparation for scheduled cases. Support patient safety by understanding key infection control principles. Ensure all communication supports effective teamwork. Skills and experiences Previous experience in a healthcare setting Able to work flexible hours Have basic computer skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Adaptable to changing environments Shows commitment to ongoing development Passionate, caring and positive, can‑do attitude To be eligible for employment at Mercy Hospital Dunedin, applicants will be required to provide vaccination history.
