Job Description
Senior Technician – Outdoor Learning Play a hands‑on role supporting outdoor, field‑based and experiential learning across the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences at AUT North campus. This permanent, part‑time (22.5 hours per week) position involves planning and supporting field trips, expeditions and off‑campus activities, managing vehicles, equipment, and delivering health and safety inductions and risk assessments. Key Responsibilities Provide technical and operational support for outdoor learning activities. Plan and coordinate field trips, multi‑day and remote expeditions. Manage vehicles, trailers and field equipment. Deliver health and safety inductions and conduct risk assessments. Support faculty with technical needs across campuses and field sites. Required Qualifications Significant experience providing technical support in a similar tertiary or comparable environment. Experience planning and delivering field‑based or off‑campus activities, including remote or multi‑day trips. Experience towing and manoeuvring trailers, and driving 4WDs, utes and vans in off‑road or field conditions. Relevant tertiary qualification at degree level.
