Horticulturist/Gardener – High Profile Heritage Site

Citycare Property is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Gardener to join our team, caring for a prestigious heritage site in the heart of Wellington. This is a unique opportunity to help preserve and enhance an important public space enjoyed by thousands of visitors every year.

As part of our Wellington team, you'll play a key role in maintaining gardens to the highest standard while helping protect the history, beauty, and character of this special site. You'll work alongside a supportive team that values quality workmanship, safety, and continuous learning.

What You'll Be Doing | Nga Mahi Ka Mahia E Koe

  • Maintain gardens, lawns, garden beds, and landscaped areas to a high standard.
  • Plant, prune, weed, mulch, and care for a wide variety of plants and trees.
  • Help preserve the presentation and heritage values of this iconic site.
  • Operate horticultural tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with your team while also being confident working independently.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture with a strong focus on Health & Safety.
  • A Full Class 1 Driver Licence.
  • A Level 4 Horticulture qualification or practical horticultural experience (new graduates are encouraged to apply).
  • A genuine passion for horticulture and maintaining high-quality landscapes.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions.
  • A proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work independently, manage your workload, and take pride in your work.
  • A commitment to safe work practices and delivering exceptional results.
