Senior Mechanical Engineer, Building Services
Job Description
Join our Tauranga Building Services team and play a key role in delivering HVAC solutions across healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, and community projects throughout the Bay of Plenty and beyond. You will lead mechanical design from concept through to construction, delivering high‑quality outcomes while working closely with clients to understand their needs, build trusted relationships, and identify opportunities to add value. As a senior mechanical engineer you will provide technical leadership across projects, mentor and support developing engineers, and contribute to the continued growth and success of our team.
Responsibilities\n- \n
- Lead mechanical design of HVAC solutions from concept through construction. \n
- Deliver projects on time, within scope and budget, ensuring high quality outcomes. \n
- Coordinate with project teams, clients, and partners to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues. \n
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. \n
- Develop and maintain accurate project documentation and drawings. \n
- Apply engineering principles and best practices to meet client expectations and project goals. \n

- Relevant tertiary qualification in mechanical, civil, or building services engineering. \n
- Significant experience delivering HVAC and building services projects from concept to completion, ideally within a consulting environment. \n
- Proficiency with design tools such as Revit, IES, or similar. \n
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, including ASHRAE, CIBSE, and New Zealand building codes. \n
- Working towards or holding Chartered status. \n
- Excellent communication, client‑relationship and team‑management skills. \n
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and exercise sound judgement. \n
