Clinical Nurse Specialist - Colposcopy Gynaecology

0.6FTE (3 days / 24 hours a week), Permanent Role – Gynae Outpatient Services: Colposcopy, Christchurch Women’s Hospital.

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5pm.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) who has a passion for women’s health and will work alongside the current CNS and Lead Colposcopy Nurse in the service. The CNS will support the clinical team in colposcopy, facilitate clinics, triage referrals, manage and support patients to attend appointments, attend multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs), facilitate care pathways, and collaborate with primary cervical screening programmes. The role also includes assisting the wider Gynaecology Outpatients Services, including hysteroscopy clinics and potentially other gyn‑o‑cology based clinics as required.

• Support colposcopy and hysteroscopy services.
\n
• Facilitate clinics and triage referrals.
\n
• Manage and support patients to attend appointments.
\n
• Attend multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs).
\n
• Facilitate care pathways and collaborate with primary cervical screening programmes.
\n
• Assist the wider Gynaecology Outpatients Services as needed.
\n
• Collaborate with community providers such as cervical screening and Kuapapa Māori providers to improve access and reduce inequities in women’s health.

• Registered nurse with knowledge and skills in gynaecology, preferably with experience in colposcopy and hysteroscopy.
\n
• Current or working toward a relevant post‑graduate qualification in nursing.
\n
• Proven leadership skills and ability to serve as a specialist resource nurse for patients and other clinicians.
\n
• Knowledge and experience in quality and change management.
\n
• Passion for women’s health and a comprehensive understanding of health inequities in women’s health, with a will to mitigate these.
\n
• Motivated, adaptable, flexible, and solution‑focused.
\n
• Ability to use technology efficiently (e.g., Excel, databases).
\n
• Work well in a team as well as autonomously.
\n
• Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
\n
• PDRP proficiency or senior nurse portfolio preferred.
\n
