Job Description
Overview Wellington Business Partner (Sales) – responsible for managing and growing customer relationships across the Wellington region, combining account management, relationship development, and new business growth. Report to the National Manager – Customer and work closely with operational teams to deliver tailored freight, container, warehousing and logistics solutions. Key Responsibilities Manage and grow a portfolio of key customer accounts across the Wellington region. Build strong, long‑term relationships with customers and key stakeholders. Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships through additional Mainstream services. Generate new business opportunities and develop relationships with prospective customers. Understand customer requirements and develop tailored transport, container, warehousing, and logistics solutions. Conduct regular customer engagement activities, including meetings, reviews and relationship visits. Prepare proposals, presentations and commercial solutions that meet customer needs. Work closely with Business Partners, Strategic Partners and operational teams to deliver successful customer outcomes. Support customer onboarding and implementation of new business. Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity, pipeline reporting and forecasts. Monitor market trends, competitor activity and opportunities for growth. Represent Mainstream at customer meetings, networking events and industry functions. Qualifications Proven experience in account management, business development, sales or a customer‑focused commercial role. Experience managing customer relationships while identifying opportunities for growth. Strong background in freight, logistics, transport, warehousing, supply chain or a related industry preferred. Proven ability to build trusted relationships with customers and key decision‑makers. Strong commercial understanding with the ability to balance customer needs, pricing and profitability. Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills. Ability to develop practical solutions and understand customer challenges. Self‑motivated, organised and results‑driven approach. Strong planning and time‑management skills. Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
