Maintenance Planner & Project Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering team in a unique dual-purpose role that combines maintenance planning with the delivery of engineering projects. As our Maintenance Planner & Project Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring maintenance activities are effectively planned, coordinated, and delivered to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations across the Port. In addition, you will lead the delivery of small engineering projects, managing activities from concept through to completion. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, contractors, and suppliers, you will balance short-term operational priorities with longer-term project outcomes, helping to improve asset reliability, operational performance, and engineering capability across the business. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage preventative and corrective maintenance plans, schedules, and resource requirements. Coordinate maintenance activities to maximise asset reliability and minimise operational disruption. Lead and deliver small engineering projects from initiation through to completion. Manage project plans, timelines, risks, budgets, resources, and stakeholder communications. Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and operational stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. Support engineering improvement initiatives, capital works programmes, and continuous improvement activities. Deliver technical projects involving equipment upgrades and operational improvements. Maintain maintenance systems, project documentation, reporting, and performance data. Contribute to a High Performance, High Engagement (HPHE) culture by working collaboratively with teams and supporting practical, frontline-led improvement initiatives. ABOUT YOU | Ko wai koe You are an experienced maintenance planning professional with a strong technical background and the ability to successfully deliver engineering projects. You are organised, collaborative, and skilled at balancing operational priorities while driving safe, practical outcomes. Ability to develop practical maintenance plans that support operational performance and reliability. Strong project management capability, including planning, risk management, and delivery oversight. Commercial awareness and the ability to balance operational needs with project outcomes. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to analyse information, identify issues, and implement effective solutions. Collaborative working style, strong problem-solving, decision-making, and continuous improvement capability. Ability to work safely and effectively in a complex operational environment.
