Security & Customer Care Officer – Part Time & Casual Christchurch Casinos Ltd, Christchurch, New Zealand Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service and communication to all guests. Deliver security, support, and protection for guests, employees, and company property. Carry out a range of customer service and security activities, including entry screening, crowd control, roving patrols, and administering basic first aid. React professionally and rationally in high‑pressure situations. Work unsupervised while collaborating positively with team members. Operate within a structured and regulated environment. Maintain and patrol designated areas to ensure safety and security. Qualifications & Requirements A valid Ministry of Justice Certificate of Approval (COA), or confirmation that it is being pursued. Excellent customer service skills. Prior experience in a controlled entry or security role is an advantage. Strong communication, conflict resolution, tact, diplomacy, and negotiation skills. Integrity and a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work in a structured and regulated environment. Valid First Aid certificate (advantageous). Reliability and commitment. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts during our opening hours. At least 20 years of age. Clean police record. New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a current and valid open work permit (including a translated clear police certificate if from abroad). No less than 12 months remaining on a valid visa. Working Hours Part‑time positions: minimum 30 hours per week (additional hours may be available). Casual positions: hours vary depending on business demands. Opening hours: 12:00pm – 1:00am Sunday–Thursday; 12:00pm – 3:00am Friday–Saturday.
