About the Role The Distribution Manager Mid Central plays a critical leadership role within the Procurement, Supply Chain & Health Technology Management (PSC&HTM) function, ensuring the effective, safe, and reliable distribution of essential health supplies across the region. The role focuses on driving operational excellence, maintaining high service standards, fostering strong stakeholder partnerships, and supporting the delivery of responsive healthcare services to communities. Key Responsibilities Leading regional distribution teams and ensuring efficient, high-quality service delivery. Managing service performance, operational standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Building strong stakeholder relationships to support integrated supply chain outcomes. Driving safe, innovative, and efficient distribution solutions across the region. Championing Health & Safety, ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of wellbeing. About the Team/Service The Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology (PSC&HTM) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope. They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system. Responsible for managing and influencing over $9 billion in annual spend, the team are central to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and standardising product usage across regions. About You You are an experienced and values-driven supply chain leader with strong operational expertise and a commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and customer-focused services. You thrive in complex environments, build effective relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, and lead teams to achieve high performance through collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. You demonstrate cultural competence and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, applying its principles in a meaningful way in your work. You will also have: 7-10 years' experience in supply chain management, with proven experience in logistics or manufacturing environments. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety systems, ERP/MRP platforms, and continuous improvement methodologies. Highly developed leadership, communication, problem-solving, and relationship management skills, with a strong sense of personal accountability and integrity. A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Commerce, or Operational Management, and experience in financial management, budgeting, and cost control would be advantageous.
