About the role | Ko te mahi nei We are seeking a technically skilled and proactive individual who is passionate about financial operations. With advanced reconciliation expertise, experience in banking and cash receipting, debt management, and analytical problem‑solving, you will contribute to the seamless operation of our Transactions Team within the Financial Management Unit. Key Responsibilities Ensure all receivables transactions are accurately billed, collected, and reconciled. Oversee the upload and allocation of daily bank entries and balances for the Council. Perform precise general ledger reconciliations, ensuring financial processes meet Council standards and business needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance financial workflows and adopt best practices. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and proactively implement solutions. To thrive in this role, you will demonstrate Experience with debt management and collections. Knowledge of ERP systems – preferably SAP modules, Connect etc. Debtor account to payment reconciliations. High attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset, ensuring accuracy in all financial processes. Advanced numerical skills and technical proficiency, particularly with Excel and other financial tools. Job Details Hours of work – Full‑Time Position – Permanent Location – This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices – 53 Hereford Street Salary – The salary band for this position goes from $67,635 – $75,150 per annum based on a 40‑hour week.
