Location Wellington – Ewart building, 2 Coromandel Street, Newtown Wellington Contract Permanent, Full Time (Rostered and Rotating) About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse to step into a leadership role as Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM) in the Wellington Community Health team. As an ACNM, you will play a key role in supporting acute flow and facilitating safe, timely discharges from hospital to home. You will work closely with District Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Health Care Assistants, ensuring referrals are actioned efficiently, workloads are balanced and high standards of care are maintained. Key responsibilities Supporting Early Supported Discharge (ESD) service Overseeing rostering, recruitment and health & safety Assisting with performance reviews and professional development Contributing to service improvement and strategic planning About the Team/Service Location Our Wellington District Nursing team is based at the Ewart building, 2 Coromandel Street, Newtown Wellington and works closely with the Kapiti and Kenepuru teams. We are a collegial, passionate group committed to delivering holistic, evidence-based care in the community. You will be supported by an experienced Charge Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialists and a Nurse Educator, and be part of the wider Community Health leadership team under the Community, Older Adults and Allied Health service. About you We’re looking for a senior nurse with: Proven leadership experience in clinical and professional settings A passion for community-based care and improving patient outcomes Strong prioritisation and decision-making skills Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment Current Annual Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse with the NZ Nursing Council Previous experience in a nursing management position and an interest in working in the community setting Broad range of experience in clinical nursing, with at least five years of experience Working toward a post graduate qualification Able to develop and maintain relationships with other community healthcare providers Ability to work collaboratively A current driver licence is essential Working hours Full-time, eight‑to‑four‑thirty am, including weekend ACNM cover for the service.
