Hourly rate contract or fixed term opportunity We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our client's team on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven civil construction professional to take ownership of our client's most recently awarded project and deliver outstanding results across safety, quality, programme and financial performance. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the project from commencement through to completion, managing subcontractors, overseeing HSEQ requirements, controlling budgets, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle. What you’ll be doing: Managing civil construction and earthworks from planning through to delivery Developing programmes, managing resources and coordinating project start‑up activities Leading subcontractor procurement, performance and compliance Ensuring projects meet all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements Managing monthly claims, project budgets, cost reporting and financial performance Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders What you’ll bring: Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil construction or earthworks Strong understanding of NZ construction contracts and commercial management Experience managing multiple stakeholders and subcontractor relationships Sound knowledge of HSEQ legislation, systems and best practice Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills A proactive and solutions‑focused approach to project delivery What’s in it for you? 12-month contract with an established civil contractor Opportunity to lead a significant project and influence outcomes Supportive and experienced leadership team A role offering autonomy, accountability and variety Competitive remuneration package This role will suit a Project Manager who can step in quickly and add value from day one, while confidently leading teams, managing project risk and delivering successful outcomes for clients and the business.
