Agronomist - Extension Job Family: R&D Business Unit: Oceania Location: Hamilton, NZ, 3214 Waikato Agricom is an industry leader in the research, development and marketing of a wide range of proprietary pasture and forage crop seeds to the agricultural industry. Our core business is investing in the research and development of forage options and in the advancement of endophyte technology to increase profits and flexibility for farmers. The Role We’re on the hunt for a passionate Extension Agronomist to join our team in the Waikato Region. In this role you will continue to develop practical agronomy skills across a range of pasture and crop species. You will be a part of the Agricom Agronomy team, also working closely with the local Territory Sales Managers, Product Development and Technical Specialists to support the agronomy program in the region. We're looking for a motivated self-starter with strong time management, planning abilities, and attention to detail. You'll need to be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, research-driven environment. Key Responsibilities For This Role Include Plan, develop, and maintain forage trials and local demonstration sites across the Upper North Island region. Support customers with technical information that helps them understand Agricom products and apply them on farm. Collect and analyse agronomy data for reports that support product development and extension. Contribute to the Research & Development breeding programmes Develop practical,on-farm forage programmes for new and existing products. Support marketing activities by turning trial results and agronomy resources into high-quality, market-ready technical documents. You’ll Need A degree in an agricultural related discipline or relevant experience Sound knowledge of, and a genuine interest in agronomy An understanding of farm systems in New Zealand and how our products can add value Why join us?
