Description: Mō te tūranga | About the Role As a Line Mechanic, you’ll be a key part of our wider Service Delivery Team, helping ensure a reliable electricity supply for our network customers. Reporting to the Field Operations Supervisor, this role is based at our Taumarunui Depot. Key responsibilities include: Network fault finding and repair Network maintenance including proactive and corrective maintenance of 230V, 400V, 11kV and 33kV overhead lines and underground cables Operation and switching activities New electrical reticulation construction Hourly rates range between $33.00 to $38.00 per hour dependent on skills and experience, with opportunities for overtime and allowance. This is a full-time, permanent role at a minimum of 40 hours a week between 7:00am and 6:00pm. You will also be a part of our 24-hour callout roster. To be successful, you’ll need: Hold minimum EWRB limited certificate (ANZCO code 342211) NZQA Level 4 Distribution Line Mechanic certification or equivalent Full class 1 drivers licence - preference will be given to candidates with a class 2 33 kv distribution network experience The ability to self-start and work independently and as part of a team A flexible and creative approach to problem solving, good judgement and a proactive, positive “can do” attitude Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with a collaborative style of engagement and experience dealing with internal and external parties. Commitment to the provision of quality services and meeting customer needs. Demonstrated ability to organise and motivate self to meet deadlines. An uncompromising approach to Health & safety and ability to drive H&S excellence through a controlled network environment for all works carried out on or supporting the network.
