Lecturer - Bachelor of Mātauranga Māori

Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi is a vibrant tertiary education institution offering programmes from certificate to doctoral level across a range of disciplines. We are seeking a full-time Lecturer to deliver the Bachelor of Mātauranga Māori programme. The programme is delivered through a blended model that includes online learning, face‑to‑face wānanga and noho. Teaching includes twice‑weekly scheduled online classes and seven weekend wānanga noho from Friday to Sunday, with three noho delivered onsite at our Whakatāne campus and four delivered online. Applicants must have: A minimum of a master’s degree relevant to Mātauranga Māori. A teaching qualification; an adult teaching qualification is preferred. Previous tertiary teaching experience, including teaching up to level 7. Proven research experience, including research underpinned by Mātauranga Māori. Fluency in te reo Māori, or advanced te reo Māori competency, with the ability to deliver in both English and Māori. Established networks with relevant marae, hapū, iwi and community groups.
