Due to exciting roll growth, Aorangi School is seeking a warm, experienced and enthusiastic new entrant teacher to join our team for Terms 3 and 4, 2026. We are looking for a teacher who builds strong relationships with tamariki and whānau, embraces structured approaches to literacy and mathematics, and believes every child can succeed. As a kura with a predominantly Māori roll, we value educators who are culturally responsive and committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We are seeking a teacher with knowledge of te reo Māori and te ao Māori, or a genuine willingness to continue developing their capability, who can confidently incorporate te reo, tikanga and local contexts into everyday teaching and learning. We are looking for someone who: Is a warm, experienced and passionate new entrant/transition practitioner. Creates a caring, engaging and inclusive learning environment. Understands the importance of early childhood transitions and welcomes our youngest learners and their whānau with warmth and care. Builds positive partnerships with tamariki, whānau and the wider community. Demonstrates cultural responsiveness and values the identity, language and culture of every learner. Works collaboratively as part of a supportive and dedicated team. Your primary focus will be creating a gentle, positive transition into school life, ensuring every child feels safe, settled, confident and ready to thrive.
