Nurse Specialist – Hāpaišā Team Permanent, full time. A senior nursing position with an opportunity to support patients on the Hāpaišā (behaviours of concern) pathway. Overview Join a dynamic, enthusiastic, positive and passionate multi‑disciplinary team. Provide specialist nursing advice, care and expertise in direct patient care and in support of other staff caring for patients on the Hāpaišā pathway. Responsibilities Enhance mana, support and safety for all patients and staff on the Hāpaišā pathway. Assess and manage patients with behaviours of concern, such as risk of suicide/self‑harm, removal of medical lines/tubes, impulsivity, verbal or physical abuse, threatening others, mild agitation and wandering. Play a strategic role within the service to ensure service and organisational objectives are met. Work collaboratively in a bi‑cultural environment and contribute to equitable outcomes for Māori and other communities. Provide professional development and support for colleagues. Qualifications Registered nurse (adult) with at least 5years’ experience. Eligibility for registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council. Post‑graduate diploma or masters qualification, or working towards one. Proficient or expert level Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) portfolio or equivalent. Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori and other communities, in line with the NZ Health Strategy.
