Business Services & Tax Manager

Business Services & Tax (Public Practice) – Manager We're partnered with a leading mid-tier firm based in Auckland, on the lookout for an experienced Business Services & Tax Manager to join their team. Reporting directly to the Partner, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of private clients — from SMEs to high-net-worth individuals and groups — delivering compliance, advisory and tax planning services that go well beyond the numbers. Key responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of clients across financial statement preparation, income tax returns and GST compliance Provide proactive tax planning and structuring advice, including for trusts, companies and SMEs Review work prepared by junior staff, providing technical guidance and mentoring Liaise directly with clients to understand their business and identify advisory opportunities Manage engagement budgets, WIP and billing across your portfolio Support partners on more complex advisory matters, including restructures, succession planning and transactions Requirements: 5+ years' experience in Business Services & Tax, Public Practice CA/CPA (Chartered Accountant, CA ANZ) qualified or nearing completion Strong technical knowledge of New Zealand tax law, financial reporting and compliance obligations Proven ability to manage client relationships and a portfolio with minimal oversight Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills Confident user of practice management and accounting software (e.g. Xero, CCH) What's on offer: Genuine partnership pathway Flexible and hybrid work options (1 day WFH) Onsite parking Direct exposure to partners and complex advisory work Ongoing technical training and mentoring #J-18808-Ljbffr
