Job Description
The Opportunity Success Global is seeking a capable and highly organised Legal Assistant to join our Wellington practice. Success Global is a boutique immigration and advisory practice assisting individuals, families and employers with New Zealand and Australian immigration matters, corporate immigration solutions and employment advocacy. This is an entry-level opportunity suited to a recent law graduate, legal studies graduate or an individual seeking to develop a professional career in legal services. The successful candidate will work closely with the firm’s legal and immigration professionals and receive practical exposure to a broad range of client matters. Key Responsibilities The Legal Assistant will: open, maintain and manage electronic client files; prepare engagement documents, authorities, checklists and routine correspondence; assist with drafting letters, applications, submissions and supporting documentation; undertake legal, immigration policy and factual research; review documents for completeness, consistency and accuracy; communicate professionally with clients to obtain information and outstanding documents; assist with the preparation and lodgement of applications; monitor deadlines, application progress and client follow-up requirements; maintain accurate records within the firm’s practice management system; schedule appointments and support the day-to-day administration of the practice; and provide general assistance to the legal and client-care teams as required. About You The successful candidate will demonstrate: a law degree, legal studies qualification or a genuine interest in developing a legal career; excellent written and verbal English; strong attention to detail and document-management skills; the ability to organise competing priorities and meet deadlines; sound judgement and a commitment to confidentiality; confidence using Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems; a professional, respectful and client-focused approach; and the right to work permanently in New Zealand. Previous experience in a law firm, immigration practice or professional services environment would be advantageous but is not essential . Training and guidance will be provided. Fluency in an additional language may also be advantageous due to the international nature of our client base.
