Join a leading industrial electrical & instrumentation services company working on some of NZ’s leading industrial and power generation projects Our client is a leading provider of industrial electrical and instrumentation services, specialising in installation, commissioning, project management, maintenance and servicing across the geothermal, hydro, solar and wider power generation sectors. With a reputation for technical excellence, strong client relationships and investing in their people, the company has many diverse and interesting projects under their belt, and in the pipeline. As such, the company is in growth mode, and we are looking for an experienced Estimator to join the team, based in Taupo. The Role You will be responsible for preparing competitive estimates and tender submissions for a diverse range of industrial electrical and instrumentation projects. Specifically, you will: Review drawings, specifications and conduct site visits to develop commercially sound pricing and project solutions Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations and competitive tenders Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to source, evaluate and negotiate quotes and supplies Support successful project delivery through effective handovers, providing clarity on estimate assumptions and inclusions Oversee and develop estimating systems, databases, and processes to continually improve efficiency and accuracy This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the estimating function, working on significant industrial projects, while helping shape the future growth of the business. About You You will be a detail-oriented estimator who enjoys solving technical challenges and takes pride in producing accurate, commercially competitive submissions. Ideally, you will have: Previous experience estimating within the electrical, instrumentation or industrial construction sector Experience preparing tenders for commercial or industrial projects A solid understanding of industrial electrical systems and installation practices Knowledge of New Zealand tendering processes and industry standards Strong commercial awareness and excellent numerical skills Experience using estimating software, job management systems and Microsoft Excel The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with clients, suppliers and internal teams Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously An Electrical trade qualification is highly desirable; however, we welcome applications from experienced estimators with a strong industrial electrical background. On offer is a very competitive salary working an 81 hour fortnight, with every second Friday off.
