Role The Field Manager plays a critical leadership role in driving field execution across the NewZealand ice‑cream business. The role will focus on leading, coaching, and supporting the national team of Territory/Area Managers while also championing new business development by creating a pipeline of new customer acquisition opportunities directly and through their team. A key responsibility will be maintaining effective territory structures and ways of working with other business functions to ensure consistent execution of channel and customer priorities. The Field Manager also uses commercial expertise to guide the Field Team in delivering against growth targets and measuring performance against business objectives. Responsibilities Lead, coach, and manage a national team of nine Area Managers to deliver sales, execution, and customer growth targets across In‑Home (IH) and Out‑Of‑Home (OOH) channels. Develop and implement territory business plans, customer call cycles, and ways of working to ensure consistent execution of channel priorities. Drive new customer acquisition and business development opportunities, fostering a growth‑focused culture across the field team. Oversee field performance through KPIs and dashboards, ensuring delivery against weekly, monthly, and annual targets. Collaborate with CSP (Customer Strategy and Planning) Managers to align field execution with customer strategies, shopper activations, and channel P&L objectives. Support Area Managers in managing multi‑site customer relationships to ensure consistency and a high standard of customer service. Ensure activation of point‑of‑sale materials, expansion of product range, and execution of Perfect Store standards. Support the team on store/branch reviews with key customers and the development of Joint Business Plans to drive sustainable growth. Ensure ROI criteria are met for trade investments and work with ANZ asset team on capital placements. Lead the integration of the field team into a unified ice‑cream field force, supporting both IH and OOH customers effectively. Manage field team KPI’s and performance dashboard to ensure delivery of sales and execution targets (weekly, monthly, annually). Manage third‑party field service provider relationships, contracts, and performance to ensure excellence in merchandising, distributor execution, and point‑of‑sale compliance against agreed KPIs. Qualifications Minimum five years of experience in FMCG field sales, customer account management, or field leadership in a national, multi‑channel environment. Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high‑performing field team. Strategic thinking and strong commercial acumen, able to translate customer and channel strategies into actionable field plans. Proven experience in managing key customer relationships and supporting teams to build strong store‑level partnerships. Business development skills with a growth mindset and hunter mentality. Deep understanding of in‑store execution standards (e.g., Perfect Store, NPD launches, TDP expansion) and how to drive them through the team. Analytical and performance management skills, able to manage KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to track progress and drive accountability. Planning and organisational skills, experience in setting up call cycles, territory structures, and ways of working that improve efficiency and execution.
