Due to continued growth within our Transpower maintenance contract, we're looking for an experienced Supervisor - High Voltage Electrical Services to lead our field teams across the lower North Island. This role combines technical leadership with operational supervision, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You'll spend approximately one-third of your time in the field supporting crews and verifying work quality, with the remainder focused on planning, scheduling, reporting, and team leadership. Working closely with teams based in both Hawke's Bay and Bunnythorpe, you'll coordinate resources, drive performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support a team of approximately 16-17 electricians and field personnel Coordinate maintenance and minor project works across high voltage network assets Plan and schedule resources across multiple work programmes and locations Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to field teams Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance Conduct site visits, inspections and quality assurance activities Drive process improvements and identify smarter ways of working Monitor work progress, track reporting requirements and ensure timely completion of tasks Support workforce capability development through skills supervision and technical guidance Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders About You We're looking for an organised and proactive leader who enjoys being involved in both the operational and people side of the business. You Will Bring: Current EWRB registration (essential) Strong electrical industry experience, ideally within high voltage environments Experience working in substations, utilities, industrial, commercial, or heavy electrical sectors Proven leadership or supervisory experience Excellent planning, scheduling and organisational skills Strong computer literacy and reporting capability A commitment to safety leadership and quality outcomes The ability to think outside the box and drive continuous improvement initiatives Flexibility to travel when required While high voltage experience is preferred, we are open to considering candidates with significant electrical experience from industrial, commercial, or related sectors who are looking to further develop their HV capability. Travel & On-Call Requirements This role can be based in Hawke's Bay or Bunnythorpe and participation in an on‑call roster is required Bunnythorpe: approximately 1 in 5 to 1 in 6 weeks Hawke's Bay: currently 1 in 3 weeks, expected to move towards 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required, ranging from single nights through to one or two‑week periods depending on project requirements About Ventia Ventia is one of the largest essential infrastructure services providers in Australia and New Zealand.
