Healthcare Assistant - Resource Team - Whangarei

Support our rural hospitals in Whangarei, Dargaville, Bay of Islands and Kaitaia. This is a permanent full‑time position of 40 hours per week rostered shifts. Support patient safety and wellbeing in a hospital environment. About the Role Work under the direction and delegation of a registered nurse (RN) to assist with various tasks in a patient‑focused setting. Responsibilities Provide assistance to patients to meet their activities of daily living, comfort and safety needs. Perform delegated patient care duties to enhance patient satisfaction. Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, tidy and organized environment. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team across multiple departments, supporting short‑term roles as needed. Qualifications At least 2years secondary schooling. Good command of verbal and written English. Basic computer skills. Ability to meet the physical demands of the role. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Prior experience in healthcare and a certificate in Health and Wellbeing is advantageous (not essential). Work Environment Opportunities to undertake short‑term contracts covering annual leave, sick leave or vacancies.
