Job Description
Service Manager – WCF and Specialist Outpatient Services Location: Lakes District | Full time, permanent Overview The Service Manager – WCF and Specialist Outpatient Services is located in Rotorua within the Lakes District. The role reports to the Group Director Operations and provides management and leadership to the Women, Children and Family (WCF) team and the Specialist Outpatient Service programme across all Lakes Services. It involves operational performance, quality improvement, change management, forward planning and strategic development. Key Attributes Strong operational management skills with a focus on high quality, efficient and effective service delivery. Highly skilled in implementing systems and processes that enable staff to provide high quality services. Hands‑on management with attention to detail, leading by example and promoting high service delivery. Advanced knowledge of outpatient service delivery to lead specialist service delivery across all district specialties. Experience managing WCF services is highly desirable. Motivates and inspires staff, promotes a positive attitude to change and encourages teamwork and cooperation. Builds on others’ opinions, engages in collaborative practice with management, clinicians, peers and service consumers, maintaining mutual respect and trust. Facilitates an effective team through encouragement, coaching and mentoring, providing direction, accommodating diversity and fostering professional development. Embraces innovation, uses initiative to address work problems and opportunities. Encourages staff to seek more effective opportunities in systems, processes and service delivery. Operates independently and collaboratively in planning, organising and managing activities. Shows initiative in service improvement. Proven leadership and senior management experience within a public health sector organisation. Strong general management skills. Proven ability to inspire and motivate others to commit to organisational goals. Experience and knowledge of change and project management. Ability to deliver health target ESPI 2 as Champion for this target.
