Job Description

Kaingaroa Tipu is seeking a Plant Operator to join our team at the Kaingaroa Processing Plant (KPP), a large log manufacturing plant situated off S.H 38 in the Kaingaroa Forest. This is a linear plant, processing whole stems from debarking through to cutting log grades and chipping offcuts. The plant runs 24 hours, 7 days a week throughout most of the year utilising a lifestyle friendly 4 on 4 off shift roster. Transport is provided from Rotorua to the plant. This role involves: Learning to operate and rotate through each of the machine stations at the plant Monitor processing lines and ensuring quality control of wood products. Assisting with breakdowns and maintenance work Some yard work associated with stocks Adhering to high standards in health, safety, value recovery & quality Working and communicating effectively within a team Candidates will possess the following: Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to conduct routine maintenance. Good understanding of safety practices in industrial or forestry environments. Proven reliability and a good work ethic Excellent situational awareness and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Computer skills and experience operating computerised systems Ability to work 12 hour shifts alternating between day and night shift, on a 4 on 4 off roster. Shifts run 7am – 7pm for dayshift and 7pm -7am for nightshift. For this role, you will need to be located in Rotorua and have a Full New Zealand Drivers licence as you will need to have the ability to drive the company work van to and from the Kaingaroa Processing Plant. #J-18808-Ljbffr
