Cobb & Co Dunedin at the Dunedin Railway Station is seeking a Restaurant & Functions Superstar. This team member will be required to take control of the day-to-day management and develop the functions side of the business.

- Work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure the smooth, effective operation of the restaurant . Lead and support front-of-house (FoH) staff during service to maximise sales volumes, profitability, and customer satisfaction. \n
- Shift Management : Take full charge of the restaurant during night shifts in the absence of the Restaurant Manager . Conduct daily shift briefings, plan FoH staffing levels to achieve wage KPIs, manage day-to-day labour hours, and oversee the table reservation and seating plans . \n
- Service & Quality Control : Maintain the restaurant's ambience (music, lights, temperature) and ensure high standards of service by following the brand's Sequence of Service . Actively interact with customers, anticipate needs, handle complaints promptly, and ensure the consistent, quality delivery of food, beverages, and seating presentations . \n
- Restaurant Administration : Complete daily checklists and maintenance requests viaJolt, record product wastage, and manage phone reservations . \n
- Compliance & Legal Obligations : Hold a current General Manager's Certificate to fulfil premises liquor licensing obligations . Ensure strict compliance with Liquor Licensing regulations, the Smoke Free Environments Act, and Gaming Room legislative requirements where applicable . Health, Safety & Security : Maintain high hygiene and safety standards across the restaurant, bar, and bathrooms . Act as the Fire Warden during emergencies, understand evacuation procedures, ensure a safe environment for all patrons and staff, and report any incidents or risks on Jolt . \n

Staff Management & Training : Foster a cooperative team environment, maintain high morale, and handle staff disciplinary actions fairly and in line with company regulations . Process leave requests, handle payroll queries, ensure staff adhere to dress standards, and collaborate on training FoH staff using Jolt modules and one-on-one pairing .

End of Night Cash-Up : Accurately count and secure the day's cash in the safe, approve timesheets, scan invoices into Dropbox, and monitor/investigate any sales variances, voids, or discounts .

Requirements:

- A Tertiary relevant qualification e.g. Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage Service or similar \n
- 6+ months of hospitality experience - ideally a mix of FOH and Kitchen \n
- Demonstrable leadership qualities \n
- LCQ (or ability to obtain) \n
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine ability to make guests feel at home \n
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment \n
- Highly self-motivated, trustworthy, with attention to detail \n
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required \n
- Experience with Open Table; Revel; Deputy; TalentLMS; Excel; Marketman an
\n advantage. Confidence around learning Apps and using Technology \n - Passion for organisation, positive attitude, and an interest in helping grow the business. \n
