What you will be doing | Ngā whāinga matua You will be responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships across New Zealand's public sector, helping government agencies access Bioeconomy Science Institute's science capability to solve complex challenges. You Will Develop and grow a portfolio of government clients, identifying and securing new commercial opportunities. Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across ministries, agencies, and funding organisations. Partner with scientists and technical experts to shape proposals, contracts, and solutions that meet client needs. Manage the commercial interface between clients and science teams, ensuring successful contract delivery and client satisfaction. Monitor government priorities, funding opportunities, and market trends to support business growth and strategic decision-making. What you will bring | Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring Proven experience in business development, account management, or commercial leadership, ideally within a science, research, technical, or professional services environment. Demonstrated success building and managing relationships with New Zealand government or public sector organisations. Strong understanding of government procurement, contracting, and funding environments. Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills. Commercial acumen, including experience managing contracts, budgets, and revenue targets. The ability to translate complex technical or scientific concepts into client-focused solutions. A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams. Why Join Us?
