About our group |Mō te roopu The purpose of the Hazardous Substances & New Organisms Group is to manage consent application and reassessment processes. This role includes providing advice and support to applicants and delegated decision makers, and to conduct delegated decision making for the manufacture and import of hazardous substances, the import or release of new organisms; the reassessment of hazardous substances; the import and export of hazardous waste and ozone depleting substances; liaison with a range of stakeholders (including submitters, applicants and other government and international agencies) on statutory decision making. About the role |Mō te tūnga This role is based in our Wellington office. Whilewe'rehappy to consider work-from-home arrangements, this role is not designed for full-time remote working. Typical day in the life of this role As a Senior Advisor, you willbe requiredto manage a busy workload of projects, work across a range of legislationand work streams, and contribute to the success of the EPA. You willbe requiredto build strong and positive connections with stakeholders and across the EPA. Current areas of primary focus The Inhibitors team delivers advice to decision makers on the regulation of agricultural inhibitors, including methane and nitrogen inhibitors. If you have experience and skills in hazardous substances regulation, environmental management, or agricultural or regulatory science, this is the role for you.
