FASD Community Support Worker (Navigator) Te Kupenga Hauora – Ahuriri is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and culturally responsive FASD Community Support Worker (Navigator) to join our KaTipu Ka Ora service. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference by walking alongside whānau as they navigate health, education, disability, social, and community support systems. About Us Te Kupenga Hauora – Ahuriri is a kaupapa Māori organisation that has supported whānau across Ahuriri and Hawke's Bay since 1994. We provide integrated health, housing, social, Whānau Ora, and youth services, empowering over 10,000 whānau annually to achieve wellbeing and mana motuhake (self-determination). About the Role As an FASD Community Support Worker, you will provide whānau-led, strengths-based, and culturally safe support to tamariki, rangatahi, individuals, and whānau affected by FASD. Working closely with whānau, hapū, iwi, and multidisciplinary professionals, you will help people access the services and resources they need to thrive. Key responsibilities include: Supporting whānau to build knowledge, confidence, and practical skills. Facilitating goal setting and planning using the Whānau Poutama framework. Assisting with care planning, implementation, and review. Advocating for access to health, education, disability, housing, social, cultural, and economic support services. Coordinating with internal teams and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes. Maintaining accurate records, reports, and case notes. Promoting tikanga Māori, cultural safety, and whānau wellbeing in all aspects of practice. We are looking for someone who: Has experience in community support, Whānau Ora, health, disability, education, youth work, social services, or a related field. Demonstrates a strong understanding of tikanga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Is skilled in relationship-building, advocacy, and working alongside whānau. Has excellent communication, documentation, and organisational skills. Can work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Brings a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and mana-enhancing approach to their work. Holds a full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence.
