Civil Structural Design Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Civil Structural Design Engineer to join our project delivery team, providing critical engineering support throughout the construction phase of a major utility-scale renewable energy project in the Auckland region. This is a site-based role where you will act as the key interface between the construction team and INTEC's engineering function, ensuring designs are practical, buildable and aligned with project requirements. You will review engineering documentation, assess site conditions, resolve technical challenges and provide constructability feedback, including recommending design modifications where required. Reporting to the Engineering Manager (ANZ), you will work closely with site delivery teams, subcontractors, consultants and the broader engineering function to support efficient project execution while maintaining technical compliance, quality and design intent. Key Responsibilities Provide on-site civil and structural engineering support throughout project construction, ensuring designs are practical, achievable and aligned with site requirements. Review drawings, specifications and engineering documentation, identifying constructability issues and recommending practical design improvements or adjustments. Assess site conditions, resolve technical queries and provide engineering solutions to support construction progress and minimise delays. Collaborate with engineering, construction and subcontractor teams to manage RFIs, design changes, technical clarifications and continuous improvement opportunities. Maintain technical quality and compliance by ensuring design changes align with relevant Australian and New Zealand standards, project requirements and engineering best practice. About You Degree qualified in Civil Engineering with at least five years' civil or structural design experience within EPC, consultancy or major infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of civil and structural design principles, with the ability to interpret, review and adapt engineering designs to suit practical construction requirements. Experience working closely with construction teams, contractors and designers to resolve technical issues and improve project outcomes. Familiarity with foundation design, earthworks, structural systems and construction methodologies, with experience across renewable energy or major infrastructure projects highly regarded. A practical, solutions-focused engineer with strong communication skills and the ability to confidently provide technical advice in a fast-paced project environment. Why Join INTEC?
