Role Description The Maintenance Plumber/Gas Fitter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Canterbury, New Zealand. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing and performing plumbing and gas maintenance, repairs, and installations in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Responsibilities cover pipework, fixtures, gas appliances, water heating systems, and heating solutions, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficient operation. The role involves responding to service calls, completing scheduled maintenance, accurately documenting work, and communicating clearly with customers and team members. The Maintenance Plumber/Gas Fitter is expected to uphold high standards of workmanship, follow health and safety procedures, and contribute to a positive, professional work environment. Qualifications Strong plumbing skills with experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems. Competence in pipe work, including assembly, installation, and troubleshooting of piping systems. Demonstrated ability in maintenance and repair, including preventative maintenance and fault finding. Effective customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and maintain professionalism on-site. Relevant trade qualification and registration as a plumber and/or gas fitter in New Zealand, with current practicing license. Knowledge of local building codes, gas safety regulations, and health and safety practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including managing workload and meeting deadlines. Valid New Zealand driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Canterbury and greater Christchurch area. #J-18808-Ljbffr
