The Senior Planner will help shape that future by providing expert environmental planning advice and supporting sustainable development across the airport. The Position This is an exciting opportunity to influence the future development of Queenstown Airport while helping protect the unique environment we operate within. In this standalone role, reporting to the Head of Planning & Sustainability, you'll provide expert environmental planning advice across airport operations and development projects, navigate complex resource management processes, and represent QAC in shaping local and national planning outcomes. Working collaboratively across the business, you'll advise and lead resource management and environmental planning activity across the business, prepare submissions and evidence and contribute to the development of strategies and policies that support the airport's long-term sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities Lead environmental and resource management planning Provide planning and technical advice on specific projects including assistance with key stakeholder liaison and management Lead QAC’s participation in local and central government environmental and planning policy processes Build and maintain relationships on planning matters across local and regional councils Manage the preparation of resource consent applications Lead the statutory processes associated with QAC’s designations and preparation of outline plans or outline plan waivers Support the implementation of resource consents, environmental compliance and monitoring across QAC’s landholdings Lead QAC’s involvement in third party proposals including engagement with applicants and the Queenstown Lakes District Council Your Skills and Experience Expert knowledge of relevant legislation in particular those related to resource management and environmental planning A planning related qualification is preferred Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management capability. Able to effectively manage a diverse stakeholder group, influence others to achieve the desired result in a timely manner, and navigate through conflict in a way that enhances relationships Adept at juggling multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously High levels of personal accountability, demonstrates a commitment to maintaining relevant qualifications and/or technical professional knowledge, completing related training if necessary Ability to work confidently with project teams, consultants, and contractors Why work for us?
