Qualified ECE Teacher Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.9, Start Date: 24/08/2026, End Date: 24/08/2026 (Parental Leave) Early learning / kōhanga reo, Certificated teacher Belonging / Mana Whenua, Contribution / Mana Tangata, Communication / Mana Reo, Exploration / Mana Aotūroa, Well-being / Mana Atua As a qualified teacher, you'll be at the heart of our mission to shape brighter futures for children across Aotearoa. This role requires: NZQA approved qualification in early childhood teaching Full registration with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand Current practicing certificate This is a 12-month fixed-term role covering parental leave, working Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. Key responsibilities Implement curriculum aligned with Te Whāriki, adapting quickly to different centre environments Contribute to planning and evaluation of learning programs that respond to children's interests Create inclusive, equitable learning opportunities that celebrate diversity Document children's learning through profile books and e-portfolios as needed Maintain professional standards and stay current with ECE best practices Qualifications and experience NZQA approved qualification in early childhood teaching (required) Full registration with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand (required) Current practicing certificate (required) Experience working with young children in various ECE settings Ability to use initiative and adapt to new environments quickly Commitment to quality practice and the principles of Te Whāriki Excellent communication skills and a positive, "can-do" attitude Enthusiasm for making a difference in children's early years Strong desire to build connections with whānau and families Why choose Barnardos?
