Senior Medical Officer - Primary Care Liaison Permanent role, part time (0.6fte) but there is opportunity to work across another one of our services to make the role full time if necessary. About the Role Primary Care Liaison is a component of the Mental Health Community Service providing psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and short-term treatment in collaboration with the service user, their family/whanau, carers, and their Primary Care Provider. This role works closely with the Referrals Management Service and has a significant component of consultation and liaison with Primary Care to include staff our GP Adviceline which operates Mon-Fri 12-430. The role works in partnership with the Community Mental Health Service leadership. Primary Care Liaison operates across all 4 community mental health sites in Auckland, you will be assigned to work with one of more of the following- Manaaki House (Panmure location) is a Community Mental Health Centre that offers psychiatric assessment and treatment to consumers within the Eastern Suburbs area of Auckland. Ihi Ora (Grafton location) is a Community Mental Healthservices provide a range of services for adults with moderate to severe mental illness or psychological distress. Kāinga Tiaki Centre (Mount Eden location) Community Mental Health Centre provides a range of assessment and recovery focused treatment options for adults experiencing serious mental illness and psychological disorders. Cornwall House (Greenlane location) Cornwall House provides a multi-disciplinary, recovery focussed service for adults experiencing serious mental illness and severe psychological disorders living in south-central Auckland About you To be a successful applicant for this role you will: Have a commitment to biculturalism A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori Post graduate qualification in Psychiatry, able to register as a Vocational Specialist with the New Zealand Medical Council Experience and interest in assessing and treating service users for short term treatment in partnership with Primary Care provider Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
