Job Description
Registered Nurse – District Addictions Services (Horowhenua locality) – Permanent, Full Time About the Role Based within the Horowhenua Locality Service, you will support whanau and individuals (whaiora) requiring specialist addiction support. You will collaborate closely with the Alcohol and Other Drugs programme and clinics throughout Horowhenua, Tararua, and Palmerston North. Responsibilities Provide care for adults with co‑existing mental health and substance use disorders, including assessment and treatment planning. Support clients requiring medical detox and extended community care for complex substance dependencies. Respond within an integrated treatment approach for those who would benefit from addiction nursing support in OST and mental health services. Work across teams to deliver culturally responsive, strengths‑based recovery care for whaiora and impacted whanau. Qualifications & Requirements Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate. Graduate and postgraduate qualifications in mental health and addiction, and experience implementing TeTiritioWaitangi in practice. Strong clinical expertise in mental health and addictions. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Full driver’s licence. Willingness to learn and collaborate within a diverse professional team.
